Okay, Let's Get On With It....

Well, okay the negotiation drama is over, so let's get on with the making of a movie shall we?

Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene were the last two to sign on for Breaking Dawn. Thank goodness they did. Just wouldn't have been the same without Ashley's banter with Jake and wouldn't have been the same without Kellan's Emmett when it comes to that arm wrestling scene with Bella. Two scenes that I hope make it into BD.

Now comes the speculation on whether it will be one or two movies. My thoughts: Two movies filmed at the same time. No regrouping of the cast, no negotiations for a fourth film. Peter Jackson did it with LOTR. Took him 18 months though, but if you have ever watched the directors cut of the films there was a lot of filming done that wasn't in the final theatrical drafts. And those films bordered on 3 hours apiece so a lot of film would have had to have been shot. Don't think that much will have to be done here. Not to mention, Summit will save a fortune on rehiring everyone to do a fifth picture. Makes sense knowing the true money grubbing ways of this production bunch.

My pet peeve with Summit is that the first two movies made 1.1 billion for the studio with a mere 87 million going to make the films. When you figure that salaries are included in the 87 million and that 1.1 billion doesn't include the merchandising of the DVD's and what ever else their hands were on, I'd say that they are pretty stingy with the salaries.

I know that they are in the business of making money. That's what businesses do. However, these movies have given this studio the clout it didn't have before. Allowed them to make and promote their first Academy Award winning movie The Hurt Locker and their first Academy Award winning director. Twilight produced the bucks to advertise and sway academy voters for the votes needed for those AA noms and votes.

Eclipse will bring more money into the coffers throughout the summer and will probably run a little longer in the theaters than New Moon did. They wanted New Moon out of the theaters so that the DVD could be issued before the ramp up to Eclipse. And with BD not out until the fall of 2011 there is a lot of wait time between the two. If two movies are shot, are we going to have to wait a year past 2011 to see the second or will they put it out there for the summer of 2012. Will the earth still exist in the summer of 2012??????

I will weep when this series is over because I will have nothing more to write about. I wonder what will happen to all those Twilight websites that have been up an running for what 4 years now? Longer?? All the clout that the gals at TwiLex have accumulated over the span of their time up will be for what once there is nothing else to talk about? Can you imagine the dollars they have spent promoting themselves over the years? The conventions they have attended. I would suppose they have to be making a dollar somewhere or wouldn't they be bankrupt and unable to support the website and all the juicy tidbits they are privy to.

That's if for now. Closing so i can watch the two squirrels outside my window in my big old oak tree playing chase and eating old acorns. Hey, my cat Emmitt is pretty engrossed as well.
